Painting of Gabriel with a Mitt

From a couple of years ago, based on a photo of Gabriel when he was about 3, with a mitt on his hand. Oil on wood, 24" x 14" approx.

I like the way this painting has a strong diagonal element. The way the boy caught in the light, faces the fragment of the other figure in that unconscious way kids orient toward the protection of family. And then the blue of the outside world at his back - it is almost like a return to the fold. Sorry I know I risk over interpreting but these are the thoughts I was thinking when looking at the piece. Would love to see your stuff in person one day.
